From time to time, we come across "odd ball" vintage tube guitar amps which don't really fit into any of the sections on our homepage. These include Sims Watts, Laney , Sound City , Burmann, Fenton-Weil , Watkins, Burns, White and Colorsound and many other evocative and colourful names from the '60s and '70s. I will add photos to this page as they appear.
The "Weird Amps" section has become so large now that we have decided to create a couple of new off shoots to cover some of the brands which were featured in this page. Please click the text below for the section you require or scroll down to view even more assorted weird amps pages.
The
Rangemaster 30 watt twin speaker model shown in the picture is a beautiful example
featuring lovely old fashioned chrome vents on the top and a strange woven cloth on the
sides. This amp is a classic, great sounding, all tube British 1960's model in mint
condition and I think, it is remarkable value at $495 USD inc. air to USA. Have you ever
seen one before ? I've never seen another and probably never will ! Now sold.

This
Sims Watts shown in the photo is a 100 watt, all tube model. This is fairly clean sounding
and is possibly best suited to country music. The condition is excellent and all original.
The large Orange plexi glass panel on the front is very characteristic of this
manufacturers products. The price is $450 USD inc. air to USA.

Sound City is another classic from the
past. This is a 120 watt all tube amp. The cosmetic styling is very similar to Hiwatt and
the Partridge transformers are the same. Very good value at $400 USD inc. air to USA.
Rather than have one long "Weird Amps " page, I have decided to create additional pages to cut down on download time. If you wish to see more strange beauties, please click this text.
